Still unable to get a taste of Russian River Brewing Co.‘s specialty brew, Pliny the Younger? Besides being one of the beers being poured this Sunday at ColLAboration WinterFest in downtown L.A., you’ll be able to find it at two other Southern California bar/restaurants, just further south of Los Angeles.
On Wednesday, March 7, O’Brien’s Pub in Kearny Mesa, San Diego will serve up Younger from 4 PM – 8 PM. Guests must sign up in person at the pub to reserve a glass, when you do you’ll be guaranteed a glass of the Younger (150 glasses). Each glass is $10 and owner Tom Nickel is donating every dime to San Diego Humane Society, California Wolf Center, Second Chance and Villa Lobos Pit Bull Rescue. 4646 Convoy St., San Diego, CA 92111.

San Bernadino County can now get a taste of Russian River Brewing Co’s limited release, Pliny the Younger, as it heads east to Claremont and Redlands. Both Eureka! Burger locations will be pouring the brew, however the date and time will be released on Eureka!’s Facebook pages. Luckily we got a confirmation from General Manager of Eureka Claremont, Sean Ranallom, that the release will be on the Thursday, February 23 at the Claremont location. Eureka! We previously reported on the release of this highly sought-after beer at the Surly Goat and Verdugo Bar, but don’t you worry, those aren’t the only Southern California craft beer bars that have gotten the lucky allocation of Russian River Brewing Co.’s Pliny the Younger (10.50% ABV). This Triple India Pale Ale, brewed by owner Vinnie Cilurzo once a year is available at their Santa Rosa pub on the first Friday of February for only 14 days. Beer lovers can rejoice – every year Santa Rosa, CA based Russian River Brewing Co. releases a limited edition version of their Pliny the Elder brew called the Younger. According to Russian River Brewing Co.’s blog, the wait at the Santa Rosa brewpub over the weekend is about five hours. You don’t have to travel to Santa Rosa, but you might have to do a little waiting. The Younger will be poured at the Surly Goat in West Hollywood on Tuesday, February 21, at 6 PM and it’s first come first serve. “Surly Goat Passport” holders with over 40 and more stamps can get early entry at about 5 PM. There will be approximately 215 – 8 oz. Younger pours available that night.
