Pliny the Younger sighting at Lucky Baldwins in East Pasadena and Sierra Madre

If you don’t end up making to any of these Pliny the Younger events tomorrow or Thursday, this weekend might be your last chance to taste 2012’s release of the highly sought after Triple IPA brewed by Santa Rosa-based Russian River Brewing Co in the Los Angeles area.

On Saturday, March 10 at Lucky Baldwins Trappiste Pub & Cafe in East Pasadena will have 150 pours of the Younger. Lucky Baldwins to host old school barleywine vertical beer tasting

Featuring Thomas Hardy's Ale, a barleywine from England

Here is chance to taste a beer that’s no longer in production. The Thomas Hardy’s Ale, an English style barleywine, will be poured at Pasadena‘s Lucky BaldwinsThomas Hardy’s Ale Vertical Tasting on Wednesday, March 7 starting at 7 PM. Six different version (1999, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2008) of the beer will be available from the bottle during the tasting. This beer was first brewed in 1968 by a brewery called Eldridge Pope and discontinued in 1999. In 2003, another English brewery, O’Hanlon’s Brewing Co., took on the task of recreating the beer. Drink 51 different Belgian beers during Lucky Baldwins’ ’13th Annual Belgian Beer Festival’

All three Lucky Baldwins locations (Sierra Madre, Old Pasadena, and East Pasadena) will participate in the “13th Annual Belgian Beer Festival.” An event featuring all imported Belgian beers, boasting a selection that “has impressed even Belgian tourists.” All 51 taps go live on Saturday, February 11 until Sunday, February 26.
