Ringing in the summer, Chef Pascal Lorange of Fig & Olive Melrose Place in West Hollywood, introduces his fresh new summer menu. Offering dishes exclusive to the West Hollywood location, Chef Lorange’s menu is inspired by the fresh and beautiful produce available at the farmers market. As the Fig & Olive continues to boast of its use of olive oil rather than butter and cream, here are a couple of the 22 new dishes featured in the bright new summer menu.
To start, guests enjoy house made focaccia served with three types of olive oil hosting their individual flavors and nuances. And to wet your palatte, cocktails such as the PISCINE – (French for poolside) sparkling wine served on ice with fresh strawberries or the SUMMER IN PROVENCE - Gin, house made rosemary thyme syrup, muddled blackberries, and fresh lime juice are available.
In Fig and Olive’s southern French, Italian, and Spanish style, new appetizers such as the PEA & MINT SOUP - Sweet peas, mint, lemon thyme, onion, and ricotta salata; SALMON CRUDO – Orange, grapefruit, dill lemon, scallion, and Château Leoube Olive Oil; and the GRILLED TIGER SHRIMP - Puff pastry with heirloom tomato confit shaved zucchini, pesto, bell pepper tapenade, and Saffron Infused Oil boast of light and healthy summer eating. New entree items to the summer menu include ZUCCHINI BLOSSOM & GOAT CHEESE RAVIOLI - House made goat cheese ravioli, zucchini emulsion, tomato confit, crispy zucchini blossom with parmesan, shaved ricotta salata, and Nocellara Olive Oil; CHILEAN SEA BASS - Seared Chilean sea bass marinated with lemon thyme, heirloom carrot, celery root pureé, fingerling potato confit, charmoula, and mascarpone harissa olive oil emulsion; and the GRILLED THYME CHICKEN PAILLARD - Free range marinated chicken breast with lemon thyme, arugula, spinach, brussel sprout, almond, tomato, haricot vert, bell pepper, caper, lemon, and Picholine Olive Oil.
And of course, dessert. New dishes include the TROPEZIENNE - House made rum-soaked brioche, vanilla mascarpone, and Meyer lemon glazed strawberries and new DESSERT CROSTINIS such as strawberry, mascarpone, balsamic, shortbread with micro-basil. 8490 Melrose Place, West Hollywood, CA 90069.
