Join the Taste of the Eastside on Sunday, May 6th from 12PM – 5PM returning to Los Feliz for a 2nd year to honor the diverse culinary scene of eastside neighborhoods Silver Lake, Echo Park, Atwater, Los Feliz, Eagle Rock, and Highland Park. The festival features a variety of activities such asfood tastings, VIP cooking and cocktail demonstrations, a wine and beer garden, and entertainment courtesy of DJ Garth Trinidad. Participating restuarants include Auntie Em’s, Canele, Cliff’s Edge, Cookbook, Elf Cafe, Four Cafe, Good Girl Dinette, Guisados, Hugo’s Tacos, Intelligentsia Coffee, L&E Oyster Bar, Large Marge Sustainables, Little Dom’s, Madame Matisse, Malo, Pazzo Gelato, Proof Bakery, Reservior, Square One Dining, The Farmer’s Kitchen, The Park, Whole Foods “Local Love,” Xoia Vietnamese Eats and Yucas. The Wine and Beer Garden includes Eagle Rock Brewery, Golden Road Brewery and Silver Lake Wine.
For general admission, doors open at 1:00 p.m. and tickets are $35 in advance (online until May 5th at midnight)/$45 at the door. Join Chaya Brasserie in Beverly Hills and Executive Chef Shigefumi Tachibe for dinner Monday, April 16 – April 30, 2012 for the “Wild Alaskan Fish Fair.” For a limited time only, guest can experience Alaska’s best showcase through Chef Tachibe’s Euro-Asian fare. Some menu items include starters such as Alaskan Halibut Sashimi with arugula pesto vinaigrette and shaved spring root vegetables ($14) or the Alaskan King Crab & Uni Tart with creamed mushrooms and hollandaise ($13) while entrées include Pan Roasted Alaskan King Salmon over artichoke purée with olive oil fried artichoke and a lavender pinot noir sauce ($36), an Olive Oil Parched Halibut with a short rib sheet, meyer lemon gremolata and fresh spring vegetables ($34), and Baked Black Cod in a Summer Black Truffle Soy Glaze with a Hijiki brown rice risotto and pea tendrils ($31) to name a few.
