Bitter beers are back again at The Library Alehouse

You're in 'HopHead Heaven'

If you think Valentine’s Day will leave a bitter flavor in your mouth this year, be sure to celebrate it’s passing with more bitterness at the Library Alehouse in Santa Monica, where they will be showcasing bitter beers from the L.A. and O.C. area in what they call “HopHead Heaven“. From February 15 – 26, Library Alehouse will be providing their patrons with 15 rotating taps, covering 40 beers, from breweries in Los Angeles, Agoura Hills, Long Beach and Orange County, including: IPA’s, DIPA’s, “Black” IPA’s, Extra Pales, Imperial Reds and Belgian IPA’s.

The kick-off event dubbed “Local Bitterness” on February 15 will exhibit at least 14 beers and feature a menu of street tacos flavorful enough to pair with these hop-filled beverages. Beers include (subject to change): Eagle Rock Populist, Bootlegger’s Knuckle Sandwich, Bootlegger’s Eliminator, Bootlegger’s IPA (not yet named), El Segundo White Dog, El Segundo Blue House Citra Pale, Smog City IPA, Ladyface IPA, Ladyface Chesebro (CASK), Golden Road Either Side of the Hill, Beachwood Thrill Seeker, Strand (TBD), Cismontane (TBD), Hangar 24 Double IPA.

If you feel guilty ordering two portions, stop by on February 21st at 6 PM for Pizza Port Night featuring a bunch of Pizza Port brews – 10% of sales that day will benefit the Ocean Park Volleyball Foundation.

In cooperation with Beachwood BBQ in Seal Beach and Long Beach, Library Alehouse will be participating in the Pliny Fights Cancer Charity Raffle by selling raffle tickets for the right to purchase one of fifty glasses of Pliny the Younger at the Alehouse from February 21 – March 1. Raffle tickets are $5 each. Proceeds from the raffle will go to The Melanoma Research Foundation in Memory of Tony Carbone. 2911 Main St., Santa Monica, CA 90405. 310-314-4855.
